Thinking of coming?  We would be very excited to have you join us at the Annual Michigan Statewide Payroll Conference!

The Statewide Committee wants to make sure that your experience at the Michigan Payroll Conference is not only memorable but fun! You may feel unsure as to what to bring, what to do, what's expected, how do I do this, and the list goes on. Below are some items to keep in mind when planning for the conference.

Our main recommendation - take the opportunity to network and meet new friends!

Make your hotel reservation

  • FireKeepers Casino Hotel is the event hotel and reservations can be made by calling (877) 352-8777 or online.  Plan to make your reservations for the special rate (using Group code "10172017PA") by October 3, 2017.
  • FireKeepers Casino Hotel is located at 11177 Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, MI.
  • Information can be found here to make Guest Room reservations at the Firekeepers Hotel Casino.  These rooms are going fast and it is highly recommended that you make your reservation ASAP.

What to Bring/Pack

  • Bring plenty of business cards to give to exhibitors and colleagues.
  • Print your session handouts before you leave the office and bring them with you.  Copies will not be available on-site. (or download to a mobile device to save trees)
  • Bring highlighters, post-it notes, pens, pencils and notepad or paper or whatever your choice of notetaking instruments is.
  • Bring a sweater and dress in layers.  The temperature in the conference rooms can vary and we want you to be as comfortable as you can.
  • A willingness to learn!

At the Conference

  • Wireless internet access is FREE within the event area during the conference
  • Participate in workshops; visit with the exhibitors; meet & enjoy fellow attendees, colleagues or payroll professionals.
  • Take the time to network with new friends or catch up with old ones!
  • Be prepared to be “on your own” for dinner on Wednesday but be sure to plan on joining us for the Thursday night social event, which includes dinner!

  • Exhibitors/Sponsors will be available all day on Thursday (8:00 - 3:30).

Dress Code

  • Our dress code is business casual attire. Please remember to dress in layers as some rooms may be colder/warmer than others. We do not have the ability to control the temperature in the conference rooms.
